Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your personal data and your confidential research.
Last updated: 29 September 2026
Who we are
Interstellar Consultation Services ("Interstellar", "we", "us") is a life sciences consultancy providing scientific consulting, data integration, and R Shiny application development. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
For any question about this policy, or to exercise a right listed below, contact us at info@interstellar-egypt.com.
Information we collect
We collect only the information you choose to give us, plus the minimum technical data any website must receive to serve a page.
Information you provide: your name, email address, organisation, and the contents of enquiries, project briefs, and contracts. If you subscribe to updates we keep your email address only.
Information collected automatically: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamp) used to keep the site secure and diagnose faults. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell personal data.
How we use your information
To respond to enquiries and prepare proposals; to deliver contracted work and support you afterwards; to send updates you have asked to receive; to invoice and meet our accounting obligations; and to keep our site secure and working.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not use client project data to train third-party models.
Client data and confidentiality
This is the part that matters most if you send us unpublished research. Client data, results, and materials are governed by the confidentiality terms of the applicable signed agreement, which take precedence over this policy where they differ.
We treat all client data as confidential by default, restrict access to the people working on your engagement, and use it only to perform that work. We do not sell it, license it, or use it for other clients' projects. Where a project requires a third-party provider (for example cloud hosting or a model endpoint), we involve only providers needed for that project and hold them to equivalent confidentiality terms.
We will tell you before any step that would materially affect your data's confidentiality, and we will agree it with you in writing first.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and correspondence: kept while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards so we have context if you return.
Client project data: kept for the duration of the engagement and for the period agreed in your contract, after which we delete or anonymise it on request.
Invoicing and accounting records: kept for the statutory retention period required of us.
Server logs: kept for a short operational window and then rotated out.
Your rights
Subject to the law that applies to you, you may ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or restrict how we use it. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests and ask for a portable copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
Write to info@interstellar-egypt.com. We will respond within 30 days and we will not charge you for a reasonable request. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Research data belonging to a client is handled through that client rather than directly by the individual researcher, so route those requests through the engagement contact named in your agreement.
Security
We use HTTPS in transit, access control on the systems that hold client data, and encryption at rest where the platform supports it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we ask that you avoid sending anything that would be damaging if disclosed until we have confirmed the arrangements for it.
International transfers
We are based in Egypt. If your data is processed outside your own country (for example by a hosting or email provider) it is transferred under that provider's standard contractual protections.
Cookies
The public site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. If we introduce any measurement or marketing tooling in future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for consent before setting non-essential cookies.
Children
Our services are aimed at organisations and professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16; if you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes affecting clients under an active agreement will be communicated directly rather than only on this page.
Questions
Write to info@interstellar-egypt.com and we will respond as soon as we can. If you are working under a signed agreement and the question concerns your project data, contact the engagement lead named in that agreement so we can route it correctly.
